Celebrate NYC’s Educators During Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9)

It’s time to show love to New York City’s hardworking teachers!

Beginning May 5, NYC Public Schools will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9)(Open external link), our annual tribute to the 74,000 dedicated educators who help shape the lives of City students every single day.

Throughout the week, students, parents, and community members will be showing their gratitude for their favorite City teachers in all sorts of ways—and now you can, too, with our official DOE All Stars web tool(Open external link)!

Simply sign in as a guest on DOE All Stars beginning May 5 and type in the name of the teacher you would like to send a heartfelt note to during the week—then select your preferred messages, hit “Send,” and you’re done!

You can also show your appreciation for your favorite teachers on social media! Use the hashtag, #ThankATeacherNYC, to tell the world how you feel about the City public school teachers who have made a difference in your life.

To learn more about Teacher Appreciation Week, visit our official Teacher Appreciation Week webpage(Open external link), and consider joining us as we thank all of our educators for their hard work and commitment to City students.

On behalf of NYC Public Schools, we wish all of our educators a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week—thank you for coming through for us and our families time and time again.
